Conference Objectives
This conference aims at creating an active platform for stakeholders from the countries, organizations, decision-makers, experts, the private sector, and international organizations to discuss various aspects of Arab water security, work together to develop solutions for the most prominent challenges, and come up with recommendations capable to achieve and make progress in this aspect, through:
1. Raise awareness of water scarcity challenges in the Arab countries as well as its reflections on water and sanitation services, review implications of such challenges on the daily life of Arab people as well as on the ability to achieve development and their impact on achieving stability and peace in the region.
2. Sharing of experiences, and development of integrated mechanisms towards the implementation of the Arab Water Security’s policies and strategies through sharing knowledge, developing effective solutions, and introducing new techniques and smart solutions to achieve sustainable and integrated water resources management.
3. Present success stories and international and regional reports that review water and sanitation issues in the Arab countries to exchange experiences and develop recommendations to address and confront water challenges.
4. Enhance and strengthen transboundary water cooperation in line with the Sixth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG6), The Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes, and The Convention on the Law of Non-Navigational Uses of International Watercourses.
5. Promote integration and interconnection policies in the management of water, agriculture, energy, and other sectors, link them with technology and innovation and foster the basis and policies of good governance.
6. Support building capacity programs, research, and entrepreneurship focusing on modern technology, and meaningful planning for climate change adaptation.
